Landowners, developers, businesses and other interested parties are being invited to put forward land with potential for future development as Bassetlaw District Council progresses its new Local Plan.

Bassetlaw District Council has launched a Call for Sites, providing an opportunity for individuals and organisations to identify land that could potentially support new development and uses across the district.

The Call for Sites will help the Council understand the availability of land as it develops the evidence base for the new Bassetlaw Local Plan. Sites submitted will be included within the Council’s Land Availability Assessment, where their deliverability and developability will be considered.

What types of sites are being sought?

The Council is inviting submissions for a wide range of potential developments and uses, including:

  • Residential development of five or more homes
  • New settlements of 1,000 or more homes
  • Self-build or custom-build housing
  • Economic development, including offices and factories, with a floorspace of 500sqm or more
  • Retail development with a floorspace of 500sqm or more
  • Biodiversity receptor sites of 500sqm or more
  • Sites for Gypsies, Travellers or Travelling Showpeople
  • Public open space
  • Community facilities
  • Other potential developments or uses.

For businesses, developers, investors and landowners, the process provides an opportunity to bring forward sites that could contribute to Bassetlaw’s future growth and development.

How to submit a site

Sites can be submitted to Bassetlaw District Council:

It is important to note that submitting a site through the Call for Sites does not provide planning consent, indicate that planning permission will be granted or mean that the site will be allocated for development in the new Local Plan. The Land Availability Assessment is also not a material planning consideration when determining planning applications.

Find out more and submit a site through the Bassetlaw District Council Call for Sites webpage.
