A counselling practice can offer more support to residents after receiving a Bassetlaw District Council Growth Grant to help back its expansion plans.
Absoluteness, which supports individuals, couples, children and young people with issues from anxiety and bereavement to relationship struggles, started in a front room before moving into its first office at The Retford Enterprise Centre.
Now thanks to a £4k Growth Grant from the council it has been able to fit out a new branch based at Middletons Yard in Worksop.
Rachel Hodges, Lead Therapist at Absoluteness said: “The Growth Grant funding enabled us to secure critical assets, local subject-matter expertise, and onboard additional therapists sooner, so we could deliver faster impact for the community and reach more people.
“This has literally brought my dream to life, and I simply couldn’t have done what we have without this huge financial help and remain forever grateful.”
Growth Grants are set up to help the wider business community not on the high street, who employ less than 150 people, have business premises and have been trading for three years or more.
Cllr Charles Adams, Cabinet Member for Business and Skills said: “It is good to see how our Growth Grants are supporting businesses, such as Absoluteness, as they look to expand and develop, and I wish them every success.
“These grants not only enable businesses to invest in their future but also contribute to strengthening the district’s economy as a whole.”
Middletons Yard offers flexible spaces, meeting rooms and break out areas to encourage networking between businesses and is currently at full capacity. Spaces are currently available at the Retford Enterprise Centre.
Bassetlaw District Council continue to offer various grants, workshops and other support for businesses in Bassetlaw.
These include support for existing businesses through a High Street Grant and Shop Fit Out Grants aimed at attracting new retail and hospitality businesses to our town centres taking up vacant spaces. For all businesses, the Council provides free one to one business support, regular drop-in surgeries and a program of free workshops covering social media, business planning, AI and procurement across the district.
